Each time we come to the Lord's Supper, God seals to us again the promise that we are God's children, that he has forgiven our sin, and that we will receive the promise of new life with him in the new creation. Amazingly, Abraham received the same promises, sealed in the covenant of grace made thousands of years ago and recorded in Genesis 15. We will consider how God has always dealt with his people "covenantally," from Abraham until today.

As members of God's covenant, Christians are called to both faith and obedience. Without obedience, faith is empty; without faith, obedience is legalism.
