PM > The Covenant of Grace

Each time we come to the Lord's Supper, God seals to us again the promise that we are God's children, that he has forgiven our sin, and that we will receive the promise of new life with him in the new creation. Amazingly, Abraham received the same promises, sealed in the covenant of grace made thousands of years ago and recorded in Genesis 15. We will consider how God has always dealt with his people "covenantally," from Abraham until today.

To be a Christian necessarily means to be forgiven our sins. Why then must we continue to confess our sin to God? After all, aren't we forgiven "once for all?" The answer can be found in one of the great confessions of sin in all of world literature: Psalm 51.
