From Matthew 1:18-25, we will discover the origin of the King as well as the significance that "he will be called Immanuel".

Non-Christians sometimes see the Law of God as a power-play designed to control other people. Besides that, it sucks all the fun out of life!  We will address this objection to the Christian faith as we study Psalm 119:33-40.

From Matthew 2:1-12, we will discover what the apostle John meant when he wrote, "He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him" (John 1:12).

With help from the Magi of Matthew 2:1-12, we will answer the question, "How Shall We Receive the King"?

Jesus is "Immanuel" -- God with us. We will learn what that means for us in our suffering as we study Jesus' raising of Lazarus from the dead in John 11.
