Lord's Day 7 declares that salvation is found exclusively in and through Jesus Christ. Since death came through one man, Adam, so life comes through one man, Jesus Christ. The question is, must all who would be saved profess faith in Jesus, the Son of God. According to Acts 4:1-12, the answer is yes.

Question 2 of the Heidelberg Catechism lays out three elements of the gospel message that we must understand to live and die in the joy of the comfort of belonging to Jesus. As we will see tomorrow evening and next week, to exclude any of those three elements is to end up with an incomplete -- and distorted -- gospel.

We continue our study of the dynamics of confession and forgiveness. Though relationship breakdown is inevitable, that doesn't mean we should be satisfied with broken relationships.

HC Q#2 says there are three things we need to know to live in joy of belonging to Jesus. Amazingly, each aspect helps us better understand the other two. We will see how as we study 1 John 1:8-2:6.
