In her chart-topping hit, "ET," Katy Perry sings about longing for the "transcendental, supernatural" love of an alien being. Believe it or not, she's simply expressing a longing that lies deep within all human beings. The problem is that we idolize romantic relationships in a desperate attempt to satisfy that longing, producing devastating results. John 4:1-26 explores the destructive nature of this attractive idol, and how Christ is the "alien being" whose love we really long for and whose power can free us from all our idols.
