Christian community, whether it be in the home or in the church, should be characterized by confession and forgiveness. Christians should be quick to confess their sin and quick to forgive sins committed against them. Unfortunately, Christians are not always very good at practicing confession and forgiveness. Beginning this week, we will conduct an extended study of this practice, starting with unpacking the familiar words of Psalm 32:1-2, "Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit there is no deceit."

Lord's Day 7 declares that salvation is found exclusively in and through Jesus Christ. Since death came through one man, Adam, so life comes through one man, Jesus Christ.

All people "live out of" a story that explains where the world came from, where it's going, and what constitutes the good life. The story we believe directs how we live every day. Christians are called to "live out of" the biblical story -- a story that is in conflict with the dominant story of modern western culture.
