In this scripture passage, Jesus shows how incompatible the Christian faith is to having an unforgiving spirit. He ends his story with these chilling words: "This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart." What is the consequence of "un-forgiveness"? Christian community, whether it be in the home or in the church, should be characterized by confession and forgiveness. Christians should be quick to confess their sin and quick to forgive sins committed against them.
